A blistering ground speed of 801 mph was reached by a Virgin Atlantic flight while it was in Pennsylvania, 35000 feet above it. This Boeing flight was boosted furiously to reach that speed. Peter James who is a jet captain said that hadn’t seen such a kind of tailwind in his life.
On Monday the speed reached was more than the speed of sound. This flight arrived 48 minutes earlier in London. It was reported by the Washington Post that this aircraft reached such top speeds earlier. On Monday, speeds of many other flights were also recorded. A flight hit 678 mph in Ohio, 39000 feet over it and another hit 700 mph.
